The British Fashion Council present Spring Summer 2017 Menswear collections as we give you our favourite edit of the Menswear shows this week from the front row.

Henry Holland presents a 90′s rave cave inspired presentation for Spring Summer 2017

During London Collections Men Designer Henry Holland staged a presentation with Video Projection screens on walls channelling a 90’s Acid House Rave in vibrant block colours.

There were references to pop art influences with motifs on t-shirts that spoke rebellion ‘Raver’s’ and emphasis on youth popular culture is Henry’s signature. Some collection pieces included casual separates such as embroidered denim with prints, t-shirts, shorts and dungarees.

Accessories worn with each look were chain necklaces and baseball caps gave it some street style edge with a splash of colour.

GQ China presents Ximonlee

GQ China was proud to present New York based Korean Designer Ximonlee at London Collections Men Spring Summer 2017, this marks GQ China’s seventh season at LCM where they provide Chinese Designers International exposure to the western market.

Ximonlee’s signature style explores sustainable concept which is inspired this season by fragile materials that emphasis hard silhouettes using tailoring techniques.

The collection pieces reveal conventional workwear and unconventional embellishments was very contemporary. Treated materials applied to the collection were acid wash, silicone concealing, latex coating, and tailored tarpaulin.

Ximonlee’s attention to detail and innovative work has made a strong impact since his collaboration with H&M for a capsule collection and showcased his work at the prestigious LVMH Prize Showroom in Paris.

Designer Songzio Presents an ocean colour scene inspired collection

South Korean designer Songzio based in Seoul and Paris was shortlisted by the British Fashion Council to showcase his debut collection at London Collections Men this season.

It’s the designer’s first time in a decade to preview his collection outside of Paris Men’s Fashion Week. This includes introducing eight womenswear looks on the catwalk; a capsule collection created for Couturissimo.

To define this season’s colour palette Songzio chose shades of ocean aquamarine, blue, layers with softness and structured contemporary silhouettes that’s true to the designer’s signature style.

For spring summer 2017 menswear Songzio takes inspiration from his own artwork using strokes of paint on canvas then translating this into printed textiles applied on cotton, linen garments alongside tailored pieces. Concept inspiration behind the collections success lies where the modernity of black meets the youthful sensuality of Songzios art work.

A graduate from Esmod in Paris Songzio gained international acclaim since making his debut at Paris Fashion Week and remains CEO and Chief Executive Officer since 1993.
