Parents who’ve purchased a new baby car seat this year are being warned of a product recall alert.

Baby brand Chicco, sold at high street shops including Boots, Argos and Mothercare, has recalled its ‘Cosmos’ car seat because of a “mechanical issue” with a component.

The car seats in question were sold between 28 February and 24 May 2017. To check if your Chicco car seat is affected, check the orange label (as shown in the picture below).

Potentially faulty Chicco Cosmos products will have the approval number 04444637 and a serial number (located at ‘B’ in the image above). Chicco has confirmed that serial numbers from 00000001 to 00025152 are affected.

The brand is asking users of the product to contact its customer service for a free replacement product by phoning 01623 75087, or visiting chicco.co.uk.
