Avril Lavigne is at the top of her world.
The 37-year-old shared a series of photos of herself on Instagram on Friday, posing in a stunning punk-style outfit. In the four nighttime shots, the "When You're Gone" and "Sk8er Boi" singer wore a white retro Vivienne Westwood corset, featuring an embroidered planet in the centre and fishnet cut-outs on both sides. She paired the top with a black frayed hem pleated skirt held together with safety pins, along with shiny black lace-up platform boots.
"'I don't ever wanna fall when I'm this high,'" the "Girlfriend and "Complicated" singer captioned the post, quoting the song "ay!" by Machine Gun Kelly and Lil Wayne, the former of whom she's currently touring the United States with.
Fans filled the comments section of Lavigne's post, sharing their admiration for the star and her beauty.
"Your makeup and this outfit is fire," one fan commented.
"You never fall, girllll," shared another. "You always stand up."
"Gorgeolicious, if I do say so myself," someone added.
"Twenty years later, you're still just as gorgeous," wrote another fan.
"That's the super girl outfit we want!" a person chimed in.
"You look so beautiful and alive. Your happiness radiates from you. Keep shining!!!" raved one fan.
On top of what fans call a "beautiful" and "perfect" outfit, Lavigne added her signature smoky eye makeup look, including voluminous eyelashes and heavy eyeliner. Earlier this year, the Belleville, Ont.-native told Allure her secret to getting that punk-pop princess makeup style.
"I just can't stand people doing my makeup, because I know how I like it. If anything, I do half of it or let them touch me up," the singer shared. "No one can do it right. Plus, I can't sit in a chair for an hour while someone's doing my makeup. It drives me nuts, especially when I can do my smoky eye in two minutes."
But for Lavigne, there's more to getting the perfect smoky eye than using her own makeup skills. In her eyes, it looks best once it's — literally — slept on.
"You can sleep in it and looks even cooler the next day," she added. "It stays on, you wake up, and it's still there. There's nothing like going to bed with a full black eye on and waking up the next day. It looks so rock and roll."
