Avatar's Zoe Saldaña wears the ultimate plunging party season gown
Time is of the essence for actress Zoe Saldaña – that much is certainly true. Between starring in Netflix's new romantic drama From Scratch and appearing in three of the five highest-grossing films of all time – yep, you read that right – idle is not a word that enters her vocabulary.
True to form, there was absolutely zero hanging about for the 44-year-old recently as she entered on a whistlestop press tour of New York, spending fewer than 24 hours in the city.

With only a few scheduled appearances to make her mark on the style circuit, quality rather than quantity was key. And rest assured, Zoe delivered (as did her stylist Petra Flannery) twofold.
Fresh off the back of her statement look worn on Good Morning America (in case you missed it, she fused bold masculine lines with the most striking red patent pencil skirt), the actress came through with another look that stopped us in our tracks.
Promoting Avatar: The Way of Water, the latest film in the hit franchise, Zoe wore a dress on the Tonight Show sofa that instantly redefined our approach towards party dressing. Granted, we love a striking showstopper more than most, but there was something about her simple silhouette black gown, courtesy of Michael Kors Collection, that hit hard.
Donning an unfussy midi LBD with ruched central detailing, the actress brought understated drama to the fore via glossy sequins and an ultra-deep V-neck plunge.

Zoe accessorised with a pair of barely-there sandals that, again, focused on elevated simplicity. Featuring mini bedazzled buckles, her shoes had a slight nostalgic edge about them – pairing perfectly with her sleek contemporary bun (created by hair stylist Mara Roszak).
Topping off her look, Zoe upped the glamour levels with some jewels that felt utterly classic. Opting for a pair of simple studs by Vrai and a simple glimmering bangle by Jared Lehr, it was clear that the actress has already nailed the festive glamour agenda– and it's not even December yet…
