ASOS has seen a huge rise in this trend and it could be thanks to Meghan Markle

From Cosmopolitan

There’s no denying that Meghan Markle is a royal style queen and quite honestly, we all wouldn’t mind waking up in her body so we could have access to her wardrobe for a day - one of our Cosmo editors even dressed like the Duchess of Sussex for a week and said it made her want to dig out all the smart items in her wardrobe to ‘be more Meghan’.

And now a spokesperson for ASOS has revealed to Bustle that their sales of suits have grown by "a massive 129 percent" this year. Coincidence? Maybe, but it *could* all be down to Meghan’s love of tailoring and the number of suits she’s flawed us all with.

As well as nailing the separates for years (insert pun about working as an actress on ‘Suits’ here), Meghan has been known to favour fancy tailored suits over dresses for public outings.

For example, she arrived at the WellChild Awards in London last Tuesday in the chicest of chic black suits.

Meghan wore one of her most daring looks yet when she attended a performance of Hamilton with Prince Harry. Opting for a Judith Charles Tuxedo dress, the Duchess of Sussex showed off her legs (sans tights may we add), and flawed us all.

And in one of our favourite looks to date, the Duchess attended the Endeavour Fund Awards in this incredible Alexander McQueen suit, complete with a white pussy-bow blouse and stiletto black pumps. JUST LOOK:

Apparently, it’s less common for women in the royal family to wear trousers for public outings. According to a People source, Meghan "has found certain rules in the royal household difficult to understand, like the fact that the Queen prefers women in dresses or skirts rather than trouser suits, and is often asking Harry why things have to be done in a certain way."

That doesn't seem to have stopped her. We’re just waiting for the day Meghan wears an ASOS suit so we can afford to buy five.
