ASOS mocked for selling crop tops and ‘boob tubes’ for men
ASOS is being ridiculed on Twitter for selling crop tops and boob tubes for men.
Crop tops are normally the reserve of teenage girls, while boob tubes are a trend we were glad to leave in the Nineties.
But it looks like the polarising trend have made a comeback in the men’s fashion – at least, if ASOS’ latest offerings are anything to go by.
The online retailer is selling the tops, which are part of its Reclaimed Vintage collection, for £15.

The “extreme cropped top with long sleeves” boasts a slim fit and crew neck. “Team with jeans and you’re good to go,” the listing advises.
The same styling advice is given for the strapless boob tube.
They were brought to popular attention when a Twitter user, Mike Arnold, shared a screenshot of the skimpy garments.

People were baffled by the look, calling it “awful” and “ridiculous”.

Others jokingly questioned whether it was in fact two separate tops designed to be worn together.
You think it's the new way to charge you twice for the same top... Just cut it in two lol

Its the new thing... IKEA clothing... You have to put it together yourself haha

They should combine those two and stitch them together for a new revolutionary item of clothing called: a shirt!!! 😱🤣🤣

This isn’t the first time ASOS clothing has failed to hit the mark.
Earlier this week, the retailer was slated for selling “vintage” DHL uniforms online. The unusual listing first came to the attention of the Internet after an image of the items were uploaded to Reddit.

“£18 to look like a DHL delivery driver? ASOS Marketplace baffles me sometimes,” the original poster wrote alongside the image.
Meanwhile, last week, a “lucky cat” bra sold on ASOS is proving to be a source of hilarity for Internet users.
The £30 bra closely resembles a common Japanese figurine known as a maneki-neko or “waving cat”. However, in this design, the cat appears to be extending its middle finger rather than waving.
