Ashley Tisdale: 'I still don't feel comfortable in my post-pregnancy body'

Ashley Tisdale feels frustrated that despite working hard to lose her baby weight, she still doesn't feel "comfortable" in her body.

The High School Musical star gave birth to her first child, a daughter called Jupiter Iris, in March, and although the baby is only a few months old, Ashley can't help comparing herself to other new mothers on social media.

"I've worked my butt off. Whether it's hiking, pilates, riding on my Peloton, and yet, I still don't feel comfortable in my body," she wrote in a blog for her lifestyle site Frenshe.

"Yes, I started to fit into some jeans again, but not the size I was wearing before...," she continued. "Instagram can really f**k with your head... There are so many models and influencers that I've compared my own personal journey in 'bouncing back' to. And then, I'm like wait they just had a baby and they look like that??"

Ashley, who shares Jupiter with her husband Christopher French, has now realised she needs to appreciate her body more and give it time to recover after the stresses of pregnancy and labour.

The 35-year-old star also urged her fans to "be kind to yourself" and stop comparing themselves to others.

"I was recently at a friend's place and two moms who just had babies were there saying how great I looked and that they wished they could fit into jeans," she shared. "Here they were thinking that I looked great and yet I'm at home looking in the mirror thinking I could look better. That's when I realised we can't compare our bodies to each other.

"Thoughts like 'you're not good enough, you could look better' have to stop! And they especially need to stop when realising that your body just created and gave life to another human being."
