Ashley Graham says seeing her mom’s stretch marks ‘reminded me to love myself’

Ashley Graham is loving her pregnancy body!

On Thursday, the 33-year-old model took to Twitter to share how a sweet moment with her mom became a lesson in self-love.

"My mom walked in on me putting lotion on my stretch marks this morning. Then she showed me her old stretch marks and reminded me to love myself and be kind to my body. So now I’m reminding you," she tweeted.

Fans praised the star for her positive message.

"Loving yourself is the best thing in the world," a fan said.

"Stretch marks are well worth the baby or babies you get at the end."

Graham also continued the body positivity by sharing several photos of herself rocking a black bodysuit that showed off her luscious legs and growing belly.

"Lip gloss on, the boys are comfy, we’re ready to go," she captioned the post.

On Monday, Graham announced that she and husband Justin Ervin were expecting twin boys, with a sweet video showing their reactions to the pregnancy and learning that they would be having two babies. The couple are already parents to 1-year-old Isaac.

Since giving birth to her first son in 2020, the model has not been afraid to give love to her stretch marks. Last year she was praised by fans for sharing a bikini photos that made the stretch marks front and center.

In an interview with People in 2020, she talked about the importance of being authentic for her fans.

"There's always a question of what do you want us to retouch, and what do you want us to take out? And I said, 'Nothing,' except from a clamp holding up the DIY backdrop," she explains. "I want people to see who I am because everybody has a story ... A lot of women I speak to have image issues, body issues around confidence. I want them to understand that we all have things that society has told us to cover up and why do we need to do that? So here I am with mine out and about and proud."
