Ashley Cain and his partner Safiyya Vorajee were overcome with emotion after a doorstep clap for their daughter Azaylia.

Famous faces including Peter Crouch and his wife Abbey Clancy, Stacey Solomon and Sophie Hinchcliffe, aka Mrs Hinch, shared video clips and pictures on social media of them applauding the brave eight-month-old on Tuesday.

The Ex On The Beach star and his partner asked fans and followers to clap on their doorsteps, echoing the Clap for Carers tribute held during the pandemic, in order to give them an unforgettable memory.

Ashley said in a post on his Instagram Stories that they were "amazed and overwhelmed" at the support they were receiving, while Safiyya said their street was "so loud" for the 7pm applause for their daughter, who is battling a rare form of leukaemia.

However, hours after the clap of honour for Azaylia, she was rushed to hospital after taking a turn for the worse.

"Back in hospital tonight, Azaylia's heart rate was over 200. Currently waiting for her blood results to see if we can get her some antibiotics to treat any infections," Safiyya shared, posting a picture of her daughter on a stretcher.

"You are amazing baby. Mummy and daddy promised to give you our 100% from day 1 & we will keep to our word what ever you need we will do for you baby," she added.

Ashley and Safiyya made the tough decision to bring their daughter home after receiving a devastating diagnosis, with doctors predicting she only had days left to live.
