Enough of us pretending that summer 2021 is going to make a triumphant return. It’s over, isn’t it? Let’s just move on with our lives.
In fact, is it too soon to start talking about Christmas? Nah, never.
Asda has released its Christmas food and drink range, and we are more than ready to get ourselves all riled up for the festive season thanks to what the supermarket has in store.
The main things we’re excited about from the range are the desserts, especially the Extra Special Blood Orange Chocolate Bauble, which is a hand-moulded Belgian dark chocolate shell with gold lustre, filled with layers of fresh orange curd, chocolate sponge, blood orange caramel, chocolate mousse, chocolate coated honeycomb and chocolate orange truffle.
The orange theme continues with the Extra Special Mince Pies With Orange Zest Pastry. These are made with three-month matured mincemeat all encased within fruitful and flavourful orange zest butter pastry.
And guess who’s back. Back again… it’s the Bruce The Brussel cake. In case you’d forgotten, he’s a chocolate sponge cake filled with chocolate flavour frosting, which is then covered in soft green icing. Much nicer than your average sprout, we think you’ll agree. Plus, look at all the other Bruce-themed sweet treats on offer this year!
We’re also massively into Asda’s Candy Cane Pork, Sage & Onion Sausage Roll. How festive is that?!
Plus, the Extra Special Truffle Brie is a real showstopper Produced in Ile de France at the Renard Gillard creamery. Asda’s Extra Special Truffle Brie is a specialty layered Brie with double cream and Saint-Jean truffle pieces which gives a delicate aromatic profile.
And if you’re looking for a crowd-pleasing main, how does the Extra Special 3 Bone Rib Joint with Parmesan & Truffle Crust sound? This tender and succulent 21 day-aged British beef rib joint is the perfect Christmas dinner centrepiece with its rich garlic and herb paste and truffle, parmesan and herb crumb.
