Doing the weekly shop can be a bit of a drag. Firstly, you have to figure out every single thing you’re going to be eating for the next seven days. I mean, how do you know what you’re going to fancy next Thursday?

Then there are the wobbly-wheeled trolleys, the reduced section slanging matches, plus you just know that whichever till you pick, it’s going to be the slowest one. Eurgh.

So, wouldn’t it be nice if there was a little ray of sunshine at the end of your big shop?

With that in mind, Asda has announced that it’s trialling Greggs counters in it supermarkets. I think we can all agree that biting into a nice, warm steak bake – vegan or otherwise – is bound to melt all that stress away.

Asda is rolling out trials over the next month in five stores: Boldon, Corby, Huyton, Wigan and Eastlands.

Then we’ll just have to see if they make these counters a permanent addition, and if they put them in other Asdas around the UK.

“By partnering with brands that fit with our core values of great quality and great value – like Greggs – we’re excited to be able to give our customers access to something new in store that we know they will love.”

Raymond Reynolds at Greggs, said: “We know that high quality food-on-the-go and convenience go hand in hand, and this trial gives us the opportunity to bring our range of products to more customers in new locations.”
