Asda Substituted Eyeliner With Something That Probably Shouldn’t Go Near Your Eyes

The world of internet supermarket shopping has come a long way in the past ten years. In its early days, if Sainsbury’s was out of lettuce, it’d probably replace it with soap, fish sticks, or a lamp. But these days are gone.

Apart from the other day, in which Asda replaced one woman’s liquid eyeliner with… two Sharpie markers.

Last week Twitter user @Opheliaballs1 included George Precision black liquid eyeliner in her online Asda order, but instead received two pens.

With a photo of the receipt, she tweeted: “Only @asda can substitute a liquid eyeliner for a pack of two sharpie permanent markers.”

We’re not quite sure how the decision was made, but it might be because the eyeliner is described as “felt tip eyeliner” on the website. Slightly similar. Kind of. Not really.

Or perhaps a generous Asda worker wanted to offer semi-permanent makeup on the cheap. (Disclaimer: We’re joking. Don’t put this on your eyes, please.)
