Arnold Schwarzenegger's son, Joseph Baena, Just Shared His Simple, But Challenging Arm Day Routine

Joseph Baena has been following in his famous father's footsteps in more ways than one. In addition to pursuing a career as an actor, Baena is also taking some cues from his dad Arnold Schwarzenegger in the gym. The pair work out frequently together at the bodybuilding mecca that is Gold's Gym in Venice Beach, and Baena has referred to Schwarzenegger as the "best training partner in the world" on several occasions.

"You have to go all out and absolutely NO cheating when you train with him," he said in an Instagram post last year, "so you know I’m going to be hurting tomorrow."

Baena shares the results of his intense weights sessions on Instagram all the time, often accompanied by some flexes and poses straight out of his dad's seven-time Mr. Olympia playbook. More recently, he has taken to sharing the specific split programs he's using to build those gains. After posting his chest day regimen earlier this month, Baena has now shared his arm day workout on TikTok and Instagram.

"High volume, simple but hard arm day to try out!" He wrote in the caption. "Stretch and squeeze those reps."

Baena's workout consists of the following:

  • dumbbell skull crushers (4 sets of 15)

  • straight leg barbell curls (4 sets of 15 to 20)

  • triangle bar tricep extensions (4 sets of 20)

  • E3 cable bar curls (4 sets of 15 to 20)

  • rope tricep extensions (4 sets of 15)

  • alternating dumbbell curls (4 sets of 10 to 12 on each arm)

  • preacher curls (4 sets of 15)

  • bodyweight dips (4 sets to failure)
