Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers are getting divorced after 10 years of marriage

Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers are getting divorced after 10 years of marriage.

On Friday, the Call Me By Your Name actor announced on Instagram that the pair had separated after “13 years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents.”

“It has been an incredible journey, but together, we’ve decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage,” Hammer captioned a photo of the couple from when they were younger. “As we enter into this next chapter, our children and relationship as co-parents and dear friends will remain our priority.

“We understand this news lends itself to public dialogue, but in the interest of our children and our family, we’re asking for privacy, compassion and love during this time.”

In addition to asking for privacy, the 33-year-old disabled comments on the post.

Chambers shared the same statement on her own Instagram, which also has the comments disabled.

Hammer and Chambers, 37, married in May 2010. They share two children together, daughter Harper Grace, five, and son Ford Douglas Armand, three.

The former couple had been quarantining together with the rest of their family in the Cayman Islands amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In April, Chambers explained on Instagram that the family had not originally planned to quarantine on the island in the Caribbean Sea, but had ultimately decided it was the best decision for the "health and safety of our family".

“We’re currently quarantined in Grand Cayman, which wasn’t planned when we left LA five weeks ago for NYC for previews of @minutesbway,” Chambers wrote. “Due to travel restrictions, school closures and the fact that we were planning to be here with our extended family two weeks later for spring break, we made this decision for the health and safety of our family.

From Chamber’s Instagram Stories, which shows the couple’s children drinking out of coconuts on the beach, it appears she is still on the island. It is not currently clear if Hammer is still there as well.

The news of the couple’s divorce comes after they recently celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary.

“10 years married, 12 together, 13 years as best friends,” Chambers captioned a photo of the couple on their wedding day in May. “Happy Anniversary, my love. I’m beyond grateful for you, this decade, our family and the dreamiest Friday night anniversary sunset."
