Ariel Winter Posts a Message to Body Shamers and Paparazzi on Instagram

Ariel Winter has, in recent years, become an outspoken body positivity advocate. The 19-year-old star of Modern Family takes every opportunity to rock daring fashion on the red carpet:

And she's clearly a fan of stunting on the 'gram:

But there's one kind of photo that she reeeeally dislikes, and it's the casual pap shot. It's those kinds of photo that she's put in the hot seat in a new Instagram post that rightly asks about the purpose of those kinds of pictures.

In her half-joking, totally frustrated caption, Winter shares, "I NEVER post pap pics but I just got sent this and I'm posting it because [boyfriend Levi Meaden's] SOOO pissed and his face is SOOOO good 😂😂😂😂"

But once she gets the laughs out of the way, she has a serious question:

"it's fucking Ralphs! What headline are you getting with this????? Over and over! 'Ariel in SLUTTY SHORTS & live in lover Levi' like ok can we just live and not be followed?"

Winter's problem is perhaps unique to those in the celebrity eye, but could you imagine being followed and photographed when, say, you pop out in sweats and a messy bun to the convenience store to grab Hot Cheetos and a soda at 11 p.m.? The frustration is real, not least because Winter knows that her casual clothes are, alas, nitpicked apart by body shamers and social media haters on the regular.

Winter ended her caption, "Take pics on red carpets where we sign up for that not when we're just trying to grocery shop for fucks sake."
