Skiing is an expensive sport. Between your lift passes, ski gear and après ski outfits, you could spend well over $500 within one weekend on the slopes. However, you can find ways to save, from renting equipment to shopping for affordable ski pants and jackets on Amazon. Last year, I purchased these Arctix Insulated Bib Overalls before heading out to Killington, VT, and they kept me warm at -7 degrees Fahrenheit. But the best part? They’re less than $50.

These snow pants are technically more like overalls, but that’s part of the reason they keep you so warm. Speaking from experience, if you take a tumble down the hill, you’re less likely to get snow inside your pants, and they’ll keep your backside totally covered. I also like that they’re not super fitted unless you order a size down, and they’re actually insulated. A lot of women’s ski bibs available right now are super slim-fit and, honestly, not built for freezing temperatures.

According to the product description, the Arctix Insulated Bib Overalls are waterproof and windproof. They’re made with the brand’s proprietary ThermaLock nylon, which feels soft and lightweight, yet is strong and durable. They also have two pockets on the front, zippers on the ankles to help you fit them over your boots and elastic around the waist for a snug yet comfy fit.

Don’t just take my word on these, though. More than 31,000 Amazon shoppers rave about these pants in the reviews!

“Wore these for a ski trip in CO and these were perfect,” wrote one reviewer. “They kept me dry and warm while spending hours on the slopes. I hung them up every night and by morning, they were dry and ready to be worn again… I was in temps ranging from -10 to 20° plus a little for wind chill and only had one thin base layer and didn’t need any more.”

You can get the insulated ski pants in classic black, white, gray, navy and a range of bolder, bright colors. They also come in three lengths, so you can get a more custom fit. Additionally, you can select Amazon Prime’s “Try Before You Buy” option, where you can get the pants delivered for free so you can try them on. If you like the fit, keep them, and you’ll be charged. If you want a different size, you can return them for free within seven days.

But seriously, I can’t rave about them enough. These ski pants are super warm, and when you’re up on the lift in the freezing cold, you’ll be glad you have these on.
