Your April horoscope is asking you to be ambitious

April takes us from ambitious Aries into pleasure-seeking Taurus (19th April) both in the realm of springtime, so this is a high energy month. It provokes a phase of development, growth, fertility, and planting seeds you want to grow and flourish for the remainder of 2025.

A Full Moon in Libra on the 13th April gives us insight into our closest relationships, particularly around the theme of balance and equality. Notice where things are out of kilter and take ownership in playing a role to rebalance matters. Mars moving into Leo in the 18th gives us a shot in the arm, a lust for recognition and admiration, which might spur a new goal or target in life. Let your ego lead.

The New Moon in Taurus on the 27th April is like a financial reality check, a pause to review our monetary health and make changes, adjustments, and new resolutions. Money is the currency of freedom. So don’t underestimate its power in your realm. The last day of April gives us a little gift of Venus moving into Aries, restoring passion, lust, and physical attraction to their full force. Get lucky and make love! April rocks.

Aries

(Two of Coins, Page of Swords, Four of Wands)

Don’t judge yourself by others' standards because you have a bigger engine, a larger dose of vitality, and a stronger constitution than most other folk. The Page of Swords sees you hesitating to activate your heartfelt plans because people say it’s ‘too much’. Let them say it! You know different. You know that, with you, more = more. The more you do, the more you find you CAN do.

The Two of Coins proves this point as it represents abundance and will gift you with all of the creativity, inspiration, resilience, courage, and determination you need to get stuff done. The Four of Wands shows the output of this will be progression, promotion, advancement, and reward. You are expanding, broadening your horizons, and rising. Power to you, Aries.

Taurus

(The Sun, The Fool, The Devil)

Three Major Arcana cards is a rare event and suggests that powerful unseen forces are at play in your realm this April, Taurus. You are being nudged and guided towards a new fate.
It rests upon a new beginning, a fresh start, a do-over. The Sun and The Fool represent taking a bold and proactive leap of faith (without too much planning and certainly zero overthinking.) Spring will be renewing and revitalising for you, and it’s all about moving towards something new with great hope and optimism. This isn’t a forced change or one born of unhappiness. This is exciting!

The Devil is full permission from the Universe to make this new beginning whatever the heck YOU want - good, bad or ugly. If others don’t like it… tough. If people have opinions… that’s on them. You do you.

Gemini

(Nine of Swords, Four of Wands, Six of Wands)

Don’t worry Gemini, don’t worry. The Nine of Swords is a card I pull all day every day for folk because it represents unspoken anxieties that we hide. And, lord, don’t we all have those! Get it all off your chest. Express yourself. Speak up. It’s all better out than in, and then you get back to action mode and, boy do you need to, because it’s all going off this April!

The Four and Six of Wands bring you great success, good fortune, and luck in work, career and passion-led projects. You are, as they say, on fire. Whatever you touch will turn to gold. Whatever you invest in will be a great success. Don’t worry. The good fortune you need is coming. Just keep being consistent, being visible, showcasing what you do… and the offers are going to start rolling in!

Cancer

(Seven of Cups, Judgment, Death)

A really deep-seated, sustained, and significant process of transformation and change is going to begin in your life this April. It could be a physical shift or makeover of sorts, a change of home and location, a new role or career path, or a personal adjustment in your outlook and approach to life. Death and Judgment are incredibly powerful Major Arcana cards and represent connection to your authentic personality and desires. And how this connection, once forged, will burn away whatever is false or pretend or forced on you by another… all of that will just evaporate and the 2.0 version of you will emerge, phoenix-like, from this.

Seven of Cups asks you to use your imagination, visualise the dream life you want to lead, let daydream and fantasy paint you a picture of a life you’d yearn for. THAT is what is possible now.

Leo

(King of Wands, Knight of Swords, Six of Cups)

Most Leos I know are much quieter, humbler, and more passive than their zodiac stereotype. If you’re a quiet Leo, then know that you still (and always will) have your roar. Maybe, with the assertive Knight of Swords, it’s time to growl a little louder this April? The King of Wands is your element’s (Fire) King and wants you operating at full Leo capacity. Be bold, confident, performative, in control and in front, competitive, protective, dashing, and outspoken.

Remember how you were when you were a kid? In full flow? The Six of Cups wants you to restore something that life has dulled or rubbed off a little. Go down memory lane and revisit the times you were the most Leo-like, look at what you were doing and who you were with, and figure out how this can be reinvented in your adult realm. This is the key to very happy future pathway!

Virgo

(King of Coins, Knight of Coins, Four of Cups)

You can make anything you like, you can create something from nothing, you can invent and design, and bring forth an idea to manifest into real life. This is your Mercury ruler’s power, and you wield it skilfully. The Knight and King of Coins bring you practical, creative, imaginative and real-world ideas and ability - both the imagination and the can-do skills to make your dreams a reality.

Focus on tangible outputs. Focus on things that will make a visible difference. Health, wealth, work, and home are all areas under the lens this April. All areas you can make magical improvements and manifestations. The Four of Cups asks you to start close to home with what’s right under your nose. You’re missing out on some hidden gems. Spot them, polish them up, and add to them. Start small and work outwards.

Libra

(Eight of Swords, Seven of Coins, Six of Coins)

All Librans have a little blind spot when it comes to fairness and objectivity about their own treatment by others. You tend to downplay the gifts and advantages you are given, and overplay those awarded to others. The scales tip heavily towards you often feeling ‘hard done by’. But you’re gracious and rarely make a fuss, it just lingers as an undercurrent of resentment and injustice. You might be thinking 'NO I DON’T!' Well, these cards suggest otherwise.

The Eight of Swords asks you to stop projecting your disgruntlements onto others and look at your own situation instead. That's all you can control, so that's where you should focus. The Six and Seven of Coins hint that you should feel more grateful than you do about what you’ve achieved, gained, been awarded, and received. You are lucky. You are admired. You are recognised. You are important. Why don’t you feel it?

Libra, when you can adjust these scales to balance fairly and you can feel true gratitude for your amazing life, you will feel a million times happier and more content. This April will provide a massive opportunity to do this… don’t miss it!

Scorpio

(King of Cups, Nine of Coins, Three of Swords)

A foolish mortal has dared to cross you, as shown by the betraying and unkind Three of Swords. Little do they realise they’ve tangled with the wrong person. Your sign is famed for vengeance and retribution. Scorpio. Think carefully here. The King of Cups advises caution and consideration. Take a life lesson from this event, extract some wisdom, examine your own role, make a pledge as to what you’d do differently next time. All hardships are great chances to learn about human nature.

The Nine of Coins asks you to then focus on a long-term plan or resolution to this. Is it a relationship you can spurn, or do you need some contact? Is there room for hope of improvement and apology? Is there a lasting, deep bond here which you’d like to protect? Or not? Don’t do something rash in the short term that will only bite you down the line. Play the long game. Make a strategic plan of action.

Sagittarius

(Queen of Cups, Queen of Swords, The High Priestess)

A trio of intense feminine energy this April, Sagittarius, and three very different female icons from the tarot to contemplate! The Queen of Cups comes to you with love, kindness, patience, a desire to nurture and care for you. This is a nudge to take good care of your wellbeing, health, and mentality. Protect your space. Feed yourself, on all levels, with positive and healthy content or fuel.

The Queen of Swords recognises your independence and freedom-seeking nature. She suggests that you begin an enthralling solo project - be it a new business venture, learning to canoe, taking a dance class, decorating your home solo and from scratch self-taught, starting a persona development challenge… set a goal and pursue it solo.

The High Priestess wants you to trust your instincts this Spring. Tune in. Listen to your gut. Heed your intuition. Get a psychic reading, try oracle cards, scry, fire gaze, meditate in moonlight… there is untapped insight just waiting for its chance to be heard.

Capricorn

(The Wheel of Fortune, Ace of Cups, The Empress)

All change in your relationship realm, Cap! And for the better. The Wheel of Fortune promises transformation is afoot and warns that the ride might be a bit bumpy, but bear with the process because it’s all going to work out for the best in the end. If it doesn’t feel that way, then it’s just not the end, okay?

The Ace of Cups and The Empress are major fertility, love, romance, and family cards. Someone new is waiting to enter your life. In terms of star signs, think Taurus, Libra, Cancer, Pisces or Scorpio. This person might turn out to be a lifelong friend, a new baby or pet, a lover, ally, or business partner for life. They are going to become incredibly important to you.

The impact of this new relationship will unfold upon others in your inner circle too. One new face or addition often creates ripples with those already in situ. Be compassionate about that. Seek to be a mediator and bridge builder vs playing folk off against each other. You want a happy circle.

Aquarius

(King of Swords, The Magician, Ace of Coins)

What a trio of cards! To me, they spell ‘new adventure’, possibly something entrepreneurial! The King of Swords is your sign’s King (representing Air signs). This is you at your best - smart, ruthless, ambitious, cleverly strategic, innovative, and logical. The Magician is about invention and creation, using your natural talent to make something that others want and can become a new way of making a living.

It's a major green light to launching new ventures, projects, pitches, and schemes.
The Ace of Coins reveals this new venture will yield riches and rewards down the line (in as little as a year.) You are planting a seed for the future. If it’s not a new venture, then consider an investment, education, training or creative skills. Whatever you start doing now, that plays to a strength, can become something life changing as 2025 unfolds!

Pisces

(Two of Swords, Eight of Cups, Eight of Coins)

A decision needs to be made. I sense, with the Eight of Cups and Eight of Coins, it is largely about whether to quit something or keep going. The Two of Swords needs you to focus on this decision now wholeheartedly and get to a conclusion this April, with the outcome executed. It’s unlikely to be irreversible, so don’t put pressure on here or overthink it. One decision always leads to another. You are not trapped.

I think the way forward is to keep going but try a new approach, maybe as a ‘final option’ before calling it a day. One last swing of the bat. Decide upon your strategy, your new approach, your expected outcome and standards (what, by when) and then put your all into it. I think a breakthrough could happen… but even if it doesn’t, well, you’ve proven this endeavour wasn’t right for you and you gave it your best shot. Find out now which outcome is going to dictate your future pathway. Get to it.
