Praise be: The Great British Bake Off is officially back this year for its thirteenth series, but what do we know for definite about this year's series?

This year, The Great British Bake Off will premier on Tuesday 13 September at 8pm.

After the passing of Her Majesty late last week, Channel 4 has confirmed that GBBO will go ahead as planned this evening.

Where to watch The Great British Bake Off 2022?

GBBO will be returning to Channel 4 this year, and will be available afterwards to catch-up on All4. It's also expected to air in the US on Netflix.

In a press release confirming the show's renewal, Ian Katz, Chief Content Officer at Channel 4, said, “We are thrilled that Channel 4 will continue to serve up Bake Off’s unique combination of warmth, humour and soggy bottoms for years to come.

“Bake Off is all about optimism, celebrating eccentricity and bringing the nation together – precisely what a publicly owned Channel 4 is here to do.”

Presenter Matt Lucas is back for this year's series of Bake Off, along with Noel Fielding – the two have been co-hosting since 2020.

Previous winners of The Great British Bake Off

Last year was won by 45 year-old Giuseppe Dell’Anno, from Bristol. On accepting his win, Giuseppe said, “There are no words, I am speechless for once. All I can think of is the reaction from my mum and dad.

“The fact is that everything I have done to deserve this comes from his heritage, it’s the best thank you note I can possibly send him. I don’t say often or lightly that I am proud of what I do, but in this case I am really proud of what I have done. It’s unbelievable!”
