The one thing you might not have noticed about Ivanka Trump's eyes

From Harpers Bazaar UK

It would be fair to say that Ivanka Trump is something of a chameleon, what with her role as former executive vice president of The Trump Organisation and running the White House as assistant to her father, President Donald Trump.

However, rumours are now circulating to suggest that the 35-year-old is employing a cunning strategy to help her manipulate her father's supporters.

Last year, journalist Nell Scovell suggested Trump's eldest daughter wore various shades of contact lenses, depending on which public appearance she was scheduled to be attending.

In an article for Esquire, Scovell reported that in Ivanka's appearance on CBS This Morning last May, she sported her natural brown eye colour. However, in an interview on FOX News' On the Record with Greta van Susteren last August, she was spotted with blue eyes.

During the Republican National Convention soundcheck later that month, she had brown eyes again, while hours later during her actual speech, she was clearly showing hazel/green eyes.

Now, far be it from us to read too much into a set of coloured contact lenses, for the entrepreneur may simply be trying out a new beauty hack, however it is more than possible that in this case, there is a political motivation behind Ivanka's subtle image altering.

A study published in PLoS One recently found that people more often choose faces with dark eyes when asked who they would trust in a a group of pictures. A study from Australia in Medical Daily found that people with lighter-coloured blue eyes are 'less agreeable' and more competitive than those with dark eyes.

But most interestingly, scientists at a Swedish University, compounded by researchers in Los Angeles have found that green eyes are basically your golden ticket, when it comes to how people perceive you. Green eyes, the reports suggest, are viewed as 'alluring' and 'agreeable' (like brown eyes) but also 'dominant' and 'strong' (like blue eyes) - so, they are the best of both worlds.

With a father who is being condemned for his views on women, sexual rights and Syria, would it be that surprising that Ivanka is using everything in her arsenal to appease his supporters?

From the way she ran her successful, eponymous clothing line and advised her father on his TV show The Apprentice, to speaking out in defence of her father's anti-feminist rhetoric on television and wearing 'Suffragette white' to the inauguration earlier this year as a symbol of solidarity with the female cause, no decision or action is executed on a whim.

Everything Ivanka Trump does is calculated, with some greater purpose.

Even, it would seem, the colour of her irises.
