Ant McPartlin's never-before-seen tattoo has special meaning – as star becomes a dad at 48
The special meaning behind Ant McPartlin's never-before-seen tattoo has been revealed as the star posted a picture to announce he's become a dad for the first time at 48. On Tuesday, 14 May, Ant shared that he'd welcomed a baby boy with his wife Anne-Marie Corbett named Wilder Patrick McPartlin.
The star uploaded a sweet black and white photo, where he could be seen cradling the newborn to his chest. The image also showed a large family tree illustration on his shoulder.
The Saturday Night Takeaway star captioned the image: "Welcome to the family. Wilder Patrick McPartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54 am. Baby is beautiful, Mummy's a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad's a mess."
As his comments section was flooded with messages of congratulations for the happy couple, many also noticed his inked design. The tattoo shows a tree, and hidden within the branches are five names - Amzie, Daisy, Poppy, Bumble, and what looks to be Milo. The sentimental permanent marking is a sweet gesture in tribute to his family.
'Amzie' is the nickname Ant gives his wife, which he revealed when they announced their engagement.
After romance blossomed between the TV presenter and his PA in 2018, Ant also became a stepdad to her two daughters from her previous marriage, Daisy and Poppy.
The other two names are a tribute to their dogs, Milo and Bumble. The telly favourite splashed out £2,000 on the two Maltipoo puppies in 2019, with the much-loved pooches settling into the family.
Taking to the comments section to discuss his tattoo, one social media user joked: "Can't see Dec's name though."
Ant previously shared a Labrador named Hurley with his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong, who doesn't appear to feature in the artwork.
Sharing the couple's happy baby news earlier this year, a source told The Sun: "This is the news everyone wanted. Ant and Anne-Marie are beyond delighted. It's no secret that Ant has always wanted children, but that it may never happen for him was something he had, sadly, come to terms with.
"When they found out last year, they were absolutely delighted, but obviously kept the news quiet for as long as possible. To be having a child two years short of his 50th birthday, with the love of his life, is the stuff of dreams for Ant.
"He's already a wonderful, doting father to Anne-Marie's kids, and together they're going to be brilliant parents to this latest addition to the family."
