Geordie stars Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly shocked fans after they were spotted chilling at a budget resort on the Spanish island of Majorca. The duo, both 48, were seen strolling around the popular holiday hotspot on Wednesday 3 July, leaving several British tourists in a state of shock.

Tourists around a hotel pool area were puzzled as to why the popular TV duo were doing there - but things made more sense when photos of the two filming emerged.

Ant and Dec, who launched their careers with Byker Grove, were seen shooting a commercial for travel company TUI during their stay. The filming stretched over several hours, featuring the twosome stirring things up around the hotel complex - but sadly, producers informed excited fans that there was 'no time' for personal photographs.

However, Ant and Dec were seen frequently waved at families vacationing at the resort and even gave out a few high-fives to youngsters who approached them between shots.

Samantha McAdams, a Brit on holiday, told MailOnline about her surprising encounter with the Britain's Got Talent hosts. "Everyone was very excited to see them," she noted.

Another onlooker said: "They arrived on a transfer coach from Palma airport around lunchtime, passing by the pool at about 1:30 pm. They were brilliant, exactly how you see them on the TV. They spoke to each of the children and they smiled the entire day."

She went on to add: "After they came out of the apartment they got in a golf buggy and drove around the resort with a few guests and asked them what they liked about the hotel, what food they liked, etc. They stayed until about 4pm and then they left. They must have been exhausted."

The pair made headlines recently when they bid goodbye to their show, Saturday Night Takeaway after twenty years on air. Closing the final episode was incredibly emotional, with the boys seen wiping tears away as they bade farewell to the ITV institution.

Dec said: "We've truly adored every second...what's happened is beyond our wildest dreams." Ant added: "This is the kind of show Dec and I watched every Saturday night growing up, so it's been an honour and a privilege to have made this show and to have been part of your Saturday nights for over 20 years."

However, Ant and Dec haven't disappeared from the small screen - they still feature in a series of ads for Santander bank, and on ITV shows including Britain's Got Talent and Limitless Win.
