Remember when Kim Kardashian said she no longer wanted her daughter Chicago to be called Chicago? Well Anne Hathaway has gone one better, and says she doesn't want people to call her Anne anymore, and in response Madame Tussauds New York has announced it will change the name on their Anne Hathaway statue.

The Devil Wears Prada actress made an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to promote new film Locked Down, and revealed she ended up being known by her full first name by accident. Her close friends and family actually call her Annie.

"I’ve known you for a pretty long time now," Fallon said to Hathaway. "I’ve heard people call you Annie, like your good friends. Do I call you Anne or Annie?"

The 38-year-old responded, "Call me Annie. Everybody, call me Annie, please. Can we talk about my name for a second?"

She then proceeded to explain she was 14 years old when she booked her first commercial and joined the Screen Actors Guild labour union as a result. When filling out her membership information, she was asked what name should appear on it and gave her full legal name, Anne Hathaway.

"That seemed like the right choice, but it never occurred to me that for the rest of my life, people would call me Anne," Annie (?) continued. "The only person who ever calls me ‘Anne’ is my mother, and she only does it when she’s really mad at me, like, really mad.

"Every time I step out in public and someone calls my name, I think they’re going to yell at me. Call me anything but Anne."

Now, Madame Tussauds NY has announced that it is changing the name of their Anne Hathaway statue, telling followers on Instagram (soundtracked with 'That's Not my Name' by The Ting Tings) that they're replacing the preexisting nameplate with a new and improved "Annie Hathaway" one.

I guess that does it, then.
