Pregnant Anne Hathaway takes maternity dressing to new levels in hot pink cut-out dress

On Thursday evening Anne Hathaway took to the red carpet for the first time since announcing her second pregnancy.
Arriving at the Sea Wall/ A Life opening night on Broadway, the actress took glamorous maternity dressing up a notch, wearing a hot pink halter dress with cut-out detail by Brandon Maxwell.
The striking magenta number had been specially made for the mum-to-be, with Maxwell including a poignant finishing touch for the 36-year-old.

Anne took to Instagram prior to the event to give fans a glimpse at the label inside, which was embroidered with “Anne +1”.
“@brandonmaxwell as if it wasn’t enough you custom-made me and the bump a knockout dress, you put this tag in it. Thank you, new friend” she captioned the snap.
The designer also took to Instagram after the event to say: “One of the greatest joys of our job is getting to work with expectant mothers during this special period in their lives, especially because we have a few new moms at our office!”
Anne wouldn’t be the the first celebrity to champion a cut-out maternity gown.

In 2016 Kerry Washington took to the Emmy Awards red carpet in a sleek cut-out black design, also by Brandon Maxwell. The same year Olivia Wild wore a Michael Kors dress with side cut-outs to the CFDA Awards. Meanwhile, in 2019, Blake Lively gave a nod to the style in a blue Versace gown at Cannes Film Festival.
