Anna Richardson has been confirmed as the new presenter of the Changing Rooms reboot, replacing original host Davina McCall.

The presenter, who fronts Naked Attraction on Channel 4, will step into Davina's shoes after covid meant filming was pushed back and scheduling conflicts meant she could no longer take part in the home makeover series.

Anna will be joined by Changing Rooms icon Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen in the remake, the only star from the original BBC lineup.

Carole Smillie hosted the original, and the show went on to make made household names of 'Handy' Andy Kane and designers Linda Barker and Anna Ryder Richardson.

Here's everything we know about the reboot so far...

Changing Rooms: Who's in it?

While Anna will host the show and Laurence returning to his spiritual home, they'll be joined by designers Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead of 2LG Studio. Completing the team will be carpenter and joiner Tibby Singh.

"What an honour to be joining the Changing Rooms team, one of my favourite shows from when I first started in TV!" says Anna. "This series is an absolute classic and I can’t wait to see the designs the legendary Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and the brilliant Jordan and Russell of 2LG come up with for our homeowners. Let’s get that house swapping started!"

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen adds, "Let the games commence!"

Changing Rooms: What's it about?

A staple of 90s reality television, Changing Rooms was legendary for jazzy feature walls, interesting interior choices and more often than not, gut wrenching disappointment when someone didn't like the room makeover their neighbour masterminded.

This time around, it's more of the same - and we're hoping for some more bold interior choices. A statement from Channel 4 explains, "Two sets of homeowners from the same neighbourhood will work against the clock to renovate a room in each other’s houses.

"The homeowners will work with LLB or 2LG to bring the new looks to life in the chosen rooms, with the designers’ bold and opposing styles ensuring each transformation will be spectacular, innovative and unexpected.

"Carpenter and joiner Tibby Singh will lend a helping hand to bring the designs to life, while presenter Anna Richardson will guide viewers through the makeovers and hear from the homeowners throughout the process to see how they’re feeling about the renovations they’re carrying out, and what might be going on back in their own home."

What's more, the show will be full of DIY and design hacks, helping us all to be creative on a budget, and make the most out of outdated and unloved corners of our homes.

Changing Rooms: When is it on?

While an air date hasn't yet been announced, we'd expect the six part series to air later this year.

We'd hazard a guess there won't be any more disasters like like Linda Barker's Floating Shelf Tea Pot Disaster....
