The very moment we heard Brad Pitt had proposed to Angelina Jolie last month, the dress predictions began! Not since Kate Middleton has there been such a furore surrounding a frock. Versace, Armani, Jenny Packham or Dior in a nod to the French setting – our minds are racing with options. And so, it seems, are those of the design elite. Speaking to People magazine, bridal pros Badgley Mischka, Monique Lhuillier and Reem Acra reveal what they’d like to see Ange wearing on the Big Brangelina Day…
Badgley Mischka's Spring Summer 2012 collection
Mark Badgley and James Mischka’s sketch of their dream dress for Angelina shows a classic, vintage-inspired creation. “[Something] like this would be perfect for Angelina,” say the design duo. “Its beaded bodice would give her just the right amount of sparkle, and the fitted tulle skirt with godets makes it elegant and totally glamorous.”
Monique Lhuillier's Spring Summer 2012 collection
Meanwhile Monique Lhuillier is thinking romantic with her sketch of a Chantilly lace gown with an elegant V neckline, low back and – hurrah! – thigh-high slit. “Angie has style,” the US designer says. “She takes a classic look and adds a sultry, sexy edge and makes it her own.”
Ever classic, the Lebanese designer sees La Jolie in a body-skimming ivory satin gown with a dramatic embellishment at the shoulder.
But what say you? Would you like to see Angelina joining for a fairytale meringue or keeping it sleek and minimalist? Have your say below…
