Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s ongoing divorce proceedings have become more complicated, after Jolie requested that the judge be removed.

Judge John W. Ouderkirk is overseeing their case, however the actress and humanitarian wants him removed because of his previous relationship with Pitt’s attorney, Anne C Miley.

The former A-list couple hired a private judge in order to keep many of the case filings sealed, according to Associated Press reports.

However, Jolie claims that Judge Ouderkirk was insufficiently forthcoming about cases he’d worked on with Kiley.

According to papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, Jolie says that Jude Ouderkirk “failed to disclose the cases that demonstrated the current, ongoing, repeat-customer relationship between the judge and Respondent’s counsel”.

Jolie outlined that Pitt’s attorney Miley “actively advocated for Judge Ouderkirk’s financial interests in moving - over the opposing party’s opposition - to have his appointment (and his ability to continue to receive fees) extended in a high profile case.”

"As is set forth in the filing, all my client is asking for is a fair trial based on facts, with no special favours extended to either side,” Jolie’s attorney Samantha Bley DeJean, explained to Associated Press. "The only way litigants can trust the process is for everyone involved to ensure that there is transparency and impartiality."
