Why is it that we can’t have the same fast food joints as the US of A? Okay, okay – we do have McDonald’s, KFC, Five Guys and all that, but we’ve always had a craving for In-N-Out Burger, Wendy’s and all those great fried chicken places like Chick-fil-A and Popeyes.

Well guess what… after Wendy's announced it was heading over to the UK, we've now also been told that we’re finally getting Popeyes restaurants here too!

Popeyes – known for its iconic Louisiana fried chicken – has plans to open 350 new UK restaurants in the next 10 years. But let’s think about the near future for a minute: the very first Popeyes is expected to pop up in the UK by the end of this year.

Elias Diaz Sese, Co-founder of Popeyes UK, says: “We are very pleased to launch Popeyes, a brand that has brought moments of celebration to guests globally, something we believe is important more now than ever. It allows us to contribute in hardship moments for the country by creating hundreds of career opportunities. We truly aspire to become an employer of reference for big-hearted talent through care, service and supporting the neighbourhoods in which we operate.”

Popeyes was founded in New Orleans in Louisiana back in 1972. It currently has 3400 restaurants across 29 countries, and the new UK restaurants follow on from roll-outs in Spain in 2019 and Switzerland last year.

We’re so excited about having Popeyes chicken for breakfast, lunch and dinner, all day every day!
