In recent years, hot air brushes have overtaken the classic hair dryer and round brush combination for blow drying hair at home. Nailing down the perfect blowout at home has been a longtime struggle for me (and having curly hair doesn't make it any easier), which is why I decided to test out the ever-popular hair tool for myself.

When searching for a hot hair brush, I wanted two things: quality results and affordability. That's when I came across Remington's Wet2style hair brush and decided to give it a shot.

The details

Remington's Wet2style is a hot air brush that can be used on wet or damp hair safely. It has a vented barrel that removes water as you style, and there's less exposure to high heat on your hair. The oval brush design allows for smooth styling and building volume at the roots.

The hot air brush is coated with ceramic and titanium to protect hair from heat damage. It also has two heat settings with two drying speeds so you can choose your preference.

My impressions

The brush itself is lightweight which makes it very easy to use. You can also detach the brush from the body, making it easy to clean and travel with.

I absolutely loved the results I got after testing the hot air brush, as my hair looked shiny, felt soft, and volumized. It was also nice to adjust the setting to a lower heat to prevent too much heat exposure on my already fine hair.

Importantly, I was able to blow dry all my hair in under 15 minutes. Another plus point is that this hot air brush is an affordable alternative to the cult-favourite Revlon one-step hot air brush, which typically retails between $65 and $70.

Since the brush is detachable, there is a thin gap left between the brush and body where I found pieces of my hair were getting stuck. Making sure the brush locks in properly is key to avoiding this issue, but it was a little tricky as the locking mechanism is quite tight. Luckily, once you're able to figure it out, the dryer works perfectly fine.

What others are saying

The brush currently has a 4-star rating on Amazon with more than 250 customer reviews. Overall, shoppers loved the results and affordability of the hot air brush.

One shopper who gave the product a five-star review said they have "no regrets" giving this product a try after their Revlon one stopped working. They found the highest setting with the Wet2style one is "not as powerful" as the Revlon one but it does give them "better control" and "doesn't burn as much."

Another shopper added that after trying both Remington and Revlon's hot air brushes, the Remington one was better for them since it is "gentle" and "not too hot."

For people with straight hair, the device might not work as a volumizer, given its design and shape. One shopper said "it's a good product" that is "sturdy, easy to grip, and use." However, they said it works better as a "straightening device than a volumizer or curler," and rather made their "poker straight hair look even more straight."

The verdict

The Wet2style hot air brush is super easy to use and gives shiny, salon-like results at home. It's also very affordable compared to high end hot air brushes, so your wallet doesn't have to take a hit.

Product design could be a bit better in terms of the lock and detachable configurations, but it still does the job and gave me beautiful results. You could try a smaller brush for more volumizing if you already have straight hair but for my curly hair, the oval shape worked great.
