Surprise! Mamma Mia! actress Amanda Seyfried has welcomed her second child with husband Thomas Sadoski, taking to Instagram to announce the birth of a baby boy.
The couple, who share a 3-year-old daughter Nina, shared a statement via INARA and War Child about the birth, both of which are charitable organisations who provide support to those living in conflicted areas of the world, through medical care and aid.
"Since the birth of our daughter three years ago our commitment to the innocent children that are so brutally affected by conflict and war has been a driving force in our lives," Amanda and Thomas said. "With the birth of our son the work of INARA and War Child has become our North Star.”
The announcement has come as somewhat of a surprise to fans, who didn't actually know the actress and her actor husband were expecting another baby. One wrote, "How did you keep this a secret from the Seyfreaks so well?! I’m surprised none of us knew you were pregnant😂😂 but good job [sic]".
Another added, "What a surprise!! Congratulations Amanda & Thomas!" while a third said, "Congrats!!! How exciting. So happy for you. Wishing you continued healthy and happiness 💙"
Thomas and Amanda first met during the stage production of The Way We Get By in 2015, and they later started dating in early 2016. News of their engagement followed in September that year, before they eventually eloped in 2017. The pair welcomed their first child, Nina, just weeks later.
Congratulations to the new family of four!
