George Clooney may have been premiering his latest film, ‘Suburbicon’, on Sunday but it was the actor’s extended family that stole the show.

The 56-year-old’s wife, Amal Clooney, wowed in a strapless white-and-blue maxi dress. Keeping her long hair down, the barrister paired her summery look with a silver clutch, huge diamond earrings and deep red lips.

George was also overshadowed by his mother-in-law, Baria Alamuddin. The 66-year-old went for a more wintry look than her daughter, 39, choosing a dark green gown with ostrich-feathered sleeves.

Seemingly wearing the same lipstick shade as Amal, Baria was all smiles on the star-studded red carpet.

It appears she is still helping with the care of the couple’s four-month-old twins, Ella and Alexander, after she was first spotted in the Clooney Lake Como mansion.

It’s not just Amal’s mum that is proving she knows a bit about fashion. Her younger sister, Tala Alamuddin, recently started her own fashion line. A stripy jumpsuit by Totally Tala was worn by Amal for one of her first post-birth appearances.

George spoke openly about his newborns, telling Extra: “Ella is very elegant and dainty. She has these big beautiful eyes; she looks like Amal.”

He then described Alexander as “just a thug. He’s a fat little boy, he laughs louder than everyone in the room, it’s the funniest thing.”

The Oscar-winning actor also opened up about the recent Harvey Weinstein scandal, saying that he hopes the coverage will encourage women to finally “feel safe to talk” about sexual harassment and abuse.

“We’ve had this conversation considerably over the last few years,” the actor told ITV‘s Lorraine. “We’re going to have to get to the point where the women feel safe to talk about this and feel heard, and the men who do this don’t feel safe.”

“Hopefully this is going to be a moment and it’s not just going to be stupid Harvey Weinstein jokes in a few months, while nothing changes.”
