Allison Janney has told how a co-star once asked her to put an antibiotic ointment on her lips before filming a kissing scene.

The West Wing actor said the co-star – who she did not name – would not pucker up with her unless she slicked on some Neosporin first.

She opened up about the unusual request during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

"I had a scene partner who I had to kiss with and he was such a germaphobe, he would put Neosporin on his lips and ask me to put it on mine too, before he would kiss me," she said, adding that it took place before the coronavirus pandemic.

The talk show host was clearly amused by the story and replied: “What? That doesn’t do anything!”

Janney said she didn’t know what it would do but admitted she “took it very personally”.

"I thought, 'What does he think I put in my mouth?' I don't know,” she said.

“It just really, kind of unnerved me, but people are germaphobes.”

The Mom actor would not identify the actor, but when Kimmel jokingly asked if it was American Idol judge Howie Mandel, who suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder, she said that it wasn’t.

“It was not Howie Mandel, I will not say who it was!” she said.
