Allbirds debuts sustainable running trainers for men and women

A trusted pair of running trainers are the one essential all runners need; whether you are a beginner getting into the sport or an experienced track or cross country athlete.
There are a whole host of running trainers available to buy to suit everyone’s needs; from designs to prevent your feet from pronating, as well as models with extra cushioning for hard terrain.
But there is one brand in particular that has caught our attention - Allbirds.
The American footwear brand has proved to be a hit with celebrities, including Jennifer Garner, Cindy Crawford, Mila Kunis, Blake Lively, Ashton Kutcher, as well as Ben Affleck, and it even counts Leonardo DiCaprio as an investor.
The $50 billion athletic footwear industry, which largely relies on synthetic shoes, make up a large percentage of waste that ends up in landfills.
But AllBirds aim to challenge that, and have released their first ever pair of sustainable running trainers - Tree Dashers.
The San Francisco-based label has designed a running show made from renewable raw materials, for men and women.
Plus, they emit 9kg of carbon dioxide per pair, which is 30% lower than the average trainer.
They also boast a removable castor bean sockliner, as well as a dual-density SweetFoam midsole, both of which work to emit less carbon, and minimise odour, while still providing the necessary support.

One piece of seamless fabric makes the upper shoe design, which is made from FSC Certified eucalyptus trees, which mean they are eco-friendly, flexible, breathable and lightweight, while a ZQ Merino Wool is fitted around the heel to support your feet.
The outersole is a flared design, which works to assist those who pronate when they run.
Plus, the running trainers have been tested by over 50 amateur and professional athletes over the last year, to ensure they suit every runner’s needs.
Tim Brown, co-founder and co-CEO of AllBirds, said: “For too long, the performance industry told us that athletic footwear meant synthetic footwear. By failing to make the most of what’s right in front of us – nature – we've missed some of the greatest performance materials in existence.
“Our multi-year journey to create the Dasher demonstrates what’s possible if we put the kind of innovation muscle into natural materials that’s usually reserved for petroleum-derived synthetics.”
The Tree Dashers come in four colourways; light blue, grey, peach and green, all of which are available to buy in European sizes 35 to 41.
AllBirds has had huge success with their Mizzle collection, which sold out within two weeks of launching, as well as their Tree Runners that were part of the JUST Water collaboration and sold out within a week.
