Alix Earle is an influencer who uses her platforms to spotlight not only the highlights of her career, but also the reality of dealing with things we all experience from time to time, like tricky skin issues.
The 22-year-old University of Miami graduate has long been candid about her journey with Accutane, a popular medication used to treat acne. On Sunday, Oct. 22, Earle took to TikTok to remind her six million followers that her skin is something she still struggles with.
“Been on accutane 3 times,” she wrote over top a video of herself in which she showed off her natural complexion. “Everytime I stop taking it my skin reverts back to its old ways. Its ok to be frustrated with your skin but ... you have to remember it doesn’t make you any less beautiful & it’s normal .”
Earle offered further advice in her caption, where she encouraged her fans struggling with similar skin issues to practice self-love. “My skin is even that bad rn but ik how easy it is to slip into that mindset of hating yourself bc of your skin 🏼 just a reminder to be patient and love yourself,” she noted.
“Alix I wish I could tell you how much this means to me for you to post,” one fan wrote in the comments. “I’m struggling with the SAME EXACT issue with accutane rn.”
“You are so sweet to post this thank you for the reminder 🥰,” someone else added.
“Thank you ,” another person applauded. “dealing with such bad hormonal acne for years and idk what to do but appreciate your transparency 🏼.”
