Alison Hammond took to Instagram on Wednesday (18 November) to share the news of a new arrival at Television Centre... the annual Christmas tree. Is it that time already?
After hosting the day's This Morning alongside Phillip Schofield, the pair went out to get a snap with the giant tree and they look pretty excited. It's even inspired Alison to put her own tree up.
The presenter wrote in the caption: "So today this happened ! Hosted @thismorning with @schofe what a fun and meaningful show ! The Christmas tree is up so I’m feeling it's time to put mine up ASAP . Anyone else feeling like putting the tree up ? I’m ready for Santa ! ❤️💙❤️"
You can see some giant colourful letters, gold baubles and bows in the selfie taken by Phil, but in a photo of the tree shared to Television Centre's own Instagram you can see it in it's full glory.
Showing the designer Matilda Goad putting the final touches on the spectacular Christmas tree, the page wrote: "Here it is, 'The JOY Tree' 🎄. Designer @matildagoad brings the festive spirit alive this year with her 12m, showstopper tree, with colours inspired by Quality Streets."
Quality Streets may have inspired the colours but there's more meaning to the design, with Matilda herself explaining: "I wanted to design a tree this year that spoke words (quite literally) in addition to being visual. So we turned to the voices of the next generation, who helped us build a collection of words they associate with Christmas that make up the decorations across the tree, a sort of word search!"
The tree may be making Alison feel like she's ready for Santa, but it seems like only weeks ago we were writing about her heatwave hacks.
