Alex Jones announced the birth of her baby girl this morning (24 August) with an adorable post on her Instagram account.
The One Show presenter shared a photo of a pair of tiny newborn feet with hospital tags in a first look at her third child.
The mum of three also shared two snaps of her new baby breastfeeding from her hospital bed, alongside the first image.
In a caption on the post, Alex announced that she “had some news….” and told the world that her, “beautiful daughter came safely into the world on Saturday afternoon 21.08.21.”
There has been no name revealed yet, but Alex promised that the, “name will be incoming soon.”
Alex described her baby as, “tiny, but perfectly formed,” and said that the whole family, including her two sons, “are all beyond happy and besotted by her, especially Ted and Kit.”
The star said her boys were taking well to their big brother roles and that “watching them with their brand new little sister is just the best.”
She added, “we can’t believe how lucky we are to have the 3 of them and to be a family of 5. It still doesn’t feel real!!!”
Alex went onto thank the staff who had supported her throughout the birth, saying “thank you to everyone at the Queen Charlotte hospital for all your support again, especially super midwife Audrey.”
Many of the BBC One presenter were quick to offer their support and best wishes saying, “congratulations, such beautiful news,” and “huge congratulations to you and your family.”
Alex’s latest arrival is her third child alongside Teddy (4) and Kit (2) with husband Charlie Thomson.
The One Show airs on weekdays at 7pm.
