Following on from John Lewis and M&S, Aldi has released its full a trailer for its 2021 Christmas ad, and it’s everything we could’ve hoped for…

But this time, the main character isn't Kevin the Carrot. But don't panic - he's still in it.

Featuring an all-new animated character, Ebanana Scrooge, the advert shows how Ebanana has gone through his whole life hating Christmas - and all because he had a traumatic experience as a baby banana. He was left behind by Father Christmas in favour of a mince pie.

Luckily, Kevin The Carrot is on hand to show Ebanana that Christmas is in fact a truly magical time of year - you just need a little bit of kindness. And the best part is, Marcus Rashford is in it! Well, Marcus Radishford...

But get this... fans have spotted that there's a dig at Marks And Spencer's Colin The Caterpillar at the very beginning of the advert (at 0.03). Did you spot it?

In case you've forgotten, earlier this year, Aldi and M&S had a legal bust up over Aldi's version of the iconic caterpillar cake, Cuthbert The Caterpillar. M&S claimed that the similarity between the caterpillars leads consumers to believe they are of the same standard and “rides on the coat-tails” of M&S's reputation. M&S lodged an intellectual property claim with the High Court.

In the advert, a handcuffed Cuthbert can be seen being led away by police officers.

Whoever came up with this deserves a pay rise immediately.
