If you’re concerned about getting through fizz too quickly this festive season, then fear not as Aldi have revealed they are selling magnum (that’s 1.5 litres to you and me) bottles of Champagne this Christmas.

The Champagne Magnum Premier Cru will sell for £31.99, which is cheaper than the standard sized bottle for several well-known champagne brands including Moet & Chandon and Veuve Clicquot. The magnum versions of many standard bottles of champagne can sell up to double the price.

The Champagne is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes and contains flavours of citrus and apple with hints of apple blossom and brioche. It has been described as clean and refreshing but with a striking acidity. It compliments light fish dishes, grilled chicken or goes perfectly as an aperitif.

The bottle is available in store and online and was released earlier this week.

Just a couple of months ago, Aldi announced they would be selling a three-litre jereboam of its DOCG Prosecco for £39.99. Result!
