This cream based cleanser from Aldi is less than £2.

I'm a big believer that top-performing skincare products can be found without spending a fortune, and cleansers are one product I will rarely spend more than £10 on.

Budget supermarket Aldi has fast become a cult favourite for beauty shoppers, me included, and one of my favourite items from the Specialbuys aisle is the Lacura Original Hot Cloth Cleanser.

This creamy formula costs just £1.99 – yes, you read that right, and after selling out multiple times, it's now been re-stocked.

Perfect for leaving skin feeling refreshed and squeaky clean, here's why it's long held a spot in my skincare routine.

🛍️ Reasons to buy

Firstly, it comes in a generously sized 200ml tube and lasts me, on average, two to three months. Just a 10p size application is needed to be left with a softer, smoother complexion.

Its vegan-friendly ingredient list is packed with rosemary, camomile, white tea, cocoa butter and eucalyptus oil, so has a gentle (but not overwhelming) scent. Despite fragrance being a common skin irritant, it has never been a bother for the rosacea on my cheeks or hormonal acne on my chin.

Designed to be applied onto dry skin and massaged in, within its box you'll also find a thin muslin cloth, which when soaked in lukewarm water will remove a full face of make-up with ease. When the muslin cloth is in the wash, a flannel will get the job done too.

Simple, fuss-free and suitable for all skin types, it's no wonder it's so popular among Aldi shoppers and boasts over 700 five-star reviews.

Reasons to avoid

In all honesty, there's nothing off-putting about this. It's low-cost, effective and gets the job done.

Our only gripe is that it sells out so often, so I tend to buy two at a time just to be safe, which still comes to less than a fiver.

💰 Best deal we've found

Given that the RRP is only £1.99, it's pretty hard to beat. However there are some perks to take advantage of from the budget supermarket.

When you spend over £30 online, you'll qualify for free delivery, so if you also need to pick up some affordable garden furniture or kitchen gadgets, do it all in one convenient shop.

Additionally, sometimes its Lacura beauty range can be found slashed in price in Aldi's Specialbuys sale which takes place throughout the year – when the price drops we'll let you know.
