When you think of Christmas, you probably think of turkey, yule logs, Love Actually, and frantically trying to buy and wrap Christmas presents on Christmas Eve. Oh, and you almost definitely think of Aldi’s Kevin The Carrot too, right?
Since 2016 (ahhhhhh, simpler times), Kevin and his little orange family have been the stars of Aldi’s Christmas adverts. But not satisfied with only coming out of storage once a year anymore, Kevin has decided he wants to partake in a little barbecuing, getting sunburnt, and promising he won’t watch it but eventually getting obsessed with Love Island. A typical British summer, you could say.
Aldi has just announced that Kevin has been given a summer makeover and will be available in stores from 25 June aka Junemas Day. After Christmas practically got cancelled in 2020, research from Aldi has revealed that almost half (47%) of Brits will be having their own late Christmas celebration with loved ones this summer to make up for missing it last year.
Aldi will be auctioning 300 of the Malibu Kevin (yup, that’s right) cuddly toys on eBay with all proceeds going to Aldi’s charity partner Teenage Cancer Trust. Fans will have the chance to bid over five days for the special summer themed Kevin.
Aldi has also launched a Junemas range of food to help people celebrate the new holiday.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Junemas…
