Aldi’s Christmas Dessert Range Features A Festive Smash Cake
Aldi had already raised the bar with its Christmas ad and festive booze selection, but the thing we’re most excited about? Getting our teeth stuck into its brand new range of festive desserts, which are starting to hit shelves now in preparation for the big day.
First up is the Specially Selected Smash Dome Cake (£14.99), a delicious smashable chocolate dome filled with ganache and surprise chocolate decorations. If you ask us, whoever lost the big family board game deserves first dibs to smash the cake. It's only fair.
Next is this Specially Selected Sticky Toffee Crown Sponge Cake (£5.99). With its moist sponge cake base, sticky toffee sauce, buttery fudge pieces and edible glitter, we can see this proving very popular with sweet-toothed guests big and small.
Prefer your desserts on the fruitier side? Aldi has you covered there, too, with its Specially Selected Heritage Raspberry & Madagascan Vanilla Panna Cotta Star (£8.49). Think: raspberry jelly topped with a creamy Madagascan vanilla panna cotta, sweet raspberry coulis and a light sprinkling of glitter. A starry centrepiece if we ever saw one.
We’re obsessed with this Specially Selected Billionaire’s Centrepiece Cheesecake (£7.99). It’s a real Christmas classic, with a digestive base, vanilla cheesecake filling, and a layer of rich chocolate sponge. Finished with a dark chocolate mirror glaze, bronze-coated malt balls and white chocolate stars, you better be quick if you want this on your festive table. The same could be said for Aldi’s luxurious and indulgent Specially Selected Black Forest Snow Globe (£7.99). I mean, just look at it! Genius.
Finally, if you’re looking for the perfect dessert to appease the whole family, then make it Aldi’s Specially Selected Pudding Bowl (£6.49). It comes in a three flavours Valencian Orange with chocolate custard, mousse and citrussy curd, or Sticky Toffee with white chocolate mousse and toffee sponge pieces.
It looks like retro desserts are making a comeback for Christmas and we couldn’t be more on board. Quite frankly, the 25th can't come soon enough.
