Airline launches 'luxury hotel rooms in the sky'

Singapore Airlines recently unveiled its new luxury suites that are like hotel rooms in the sky.

Each of the six available on select Air Bus A380 aircraft is equipped with a 32 inch viewing screen and leather swivel chair.

There are beds available in both single and double occupancy options and they're all outfitted in luxurious embroidered linens .

The airborne hotel rooms are part of an $850 aircraft overhaul hope to make the airline more competitive in luxury travel market.

In recent years, a number of airlines have ramped up efforts to attract high paying passengers by adding amenities including showers and butlers.
