Air fryer cooking process revealed in TikTok video - and viewers are stunned
You've probably never wondered what happens when you pop your food into an air fryer to cook, but one TikTok user has shown the process and people are stunned by what they see.
The hugely-popular gadget is a staple in many kitchens nowadays and, in many cases, has replaced the oven for home cooks. The air fryer is said to be more cost-effective and perfect for cooking, baking and reheating food.
But few owners will know what actually is happening to their grub while it's cooking inside. That was until TikTok user @aligroholski fired up her Ninja Crispi Air Fryer which has a glass basket and allows her to see the inner workings of the gadget.

She then posted videos showing just what happens inside these gadgets, reports the Express.
She shows the air fryer making spring rolls, spinning around the drawer and comments: "No way my food is just in the break dancing." On another video of a spring roll she commented: "Watching the inside of an air fryer feels illegal'.
And continuing the theme, she showed a slice of bread with cheese on top cooking. The cheese flips off the bread before the slice of bread starts flipping and hovering around the drawer. On the video, she shared someone's comment: "That's why my damn cheese never stays on". The video is hilariously set to the Wicked tune 'Defying Gravity'.
As implied by their name, air fryers utilise air to function, with a heating element at the top turning up the temperature of the cooking chamber's air, while a fan rapidly circulates the heated air around the food.
But a lot of models don't offer the chance to watch what's happening inside the drawer while cooking happens, as they pause when the user opens the drawer to check its progress.

Ali's video has left many stunned in the comment section, with one person writing: "No way my food is just in there breakdancing." Another said: "THEY SPIN?" and a third reckoned it explained a lot saying: "That's why my damn cheese never stays on."
However, one commented: "That does not happen in mine cause when I open it the food is in the exact same position no matter how small the food is."
One tickled viewer lamented: "Turns out I'll watch anything".
