Aimee Lou Wood shares her makeup routine and opens up about her teeth
If anything is going to stop us in an Instagram doom scroll, it's a celebrity makeup routine. Not just because we find it fascinating to see how they do their glam without a pro MUA, but because we want to see the products they *actually* use. Call us nosey but we have zero shame!
Lately, Bella Hadid shared her entire routine while sitting in a parked car (fyi, her go-to foundation is this budget buy for £15.50) but the most recent celeb to give us an insight into their makeup bag is none other than The White Lotus and Toxic Town star, Aimee Lou Wood. Yup, she's dropped her full makeup routine using one brand, who'd have thought...
In a wholesome, at-home video (loving the pinstriped dressing gown, btw) she showed us how to create her speedy and natural look using only a few glow-enhancing products from Merit Beauty.
What we love, love, LOVE about this vibe is how simple the look is to create, truly sticking to Merit's minimalist vibe. Aimee admits to not being a makeup connoisseur herself, saying: “This is a big deal for me today. I'm doing my own makeup which is rare as I'm so bad at it. I grew up with a makeup artist sister, so I never even did it then. And then I became an actor and everyone is always doing it for me.”
Nevertheless, she goes on to create a gorge, summer-ready makeup look (in roughly five minutes) while getting real about filming The White Lotus, and she even chats about her relationship with her teeth.
After evening out her complexion with the foundation and concealer stick, The Minimalist, Aimee scribbles on the Flush Balm – a.k.a, one of our favourite balmy blushes for creating a glossy and healthy sheen to the cheeks. As it goes, Aimee seems to agree with us (winning!), as she uses it to bring her 'Koh Samui glow back to London' after filming The White Lotus in Thailand for seven (SEVEN!!) months. We can only dream.

Showing us how she uses the blush, Aimee says: “This is perfect because you can just scribble. It actually, genuinely, has a positive impact on my mood as even if nothing else is on, blusher is always on.”
If you know the Flush Blush, you'll know just how much hype these little pocket balms get. Creamy but never greasy, the Flush Balm layers on a pretty, dewy and flattering pop of pigment that doesn't look like makeup, but a juicy flush of natural colour.
Carrying on the rest of her routine, Aimee adds a glossy highlight using the Day Glow Highlighter Balm. Speaking of the balm, she says: “The thing I miss about Thailand is I had a constant glow. And now I look back at photos and I think 'oh my god'. I'm not really a highlighter girl but since Thailand, it has become essential.”

She tidies up her brows using the Brow 1980 Pomade and sweeps on a Solo Shadow in a matte, golden-hue. Then finishing up her look using the Shade Slick Lip Oil (and another sneaky launch that is soon to drop 🤫), Aimee opens up about her relationship with her teeth and her journey to acceptance.
“A big thing for me growing up was my mouth because it was the thing that everyone pointed out and it was the thing that made me different. And I've never seen an actress on TV with teeth like mine. When Georgia Jagger did the 'Get the London Look' and she had the gap teeth, that was a huge moment. I then thought, I am going to put red lipstick on and I am going to draw attention to it,” she says. Aimee, we've fallen for you.
