For some couples conceiving and having a baby is easy. Then the joyous social media posts follow and the baby pictures! But not all women find it easy to achieve their dream of motherhood. With the biological clock ticking the obvious solution is to freeze your eggs to protect your chance of having a baby. Read on to learn about the fertility journeys of these stars...

Miss Universe 2012, Olivia Culpo, 30, has been in a relationship with NFL star Christian McCaffrey since 2019. The pair have been very open about their desire to become parents. In fact, Olivia told Extra in 2022, that she decided to freeze her eggs to ensure they have they have the best chance of having a family in the future. She said: “It’s in the process. We definitely talk [about it]. He’s so busy right now [with] his career, [which] is obviously really important right now for him and he’s killing it, so we talk about it, but I don’t put a ton of pressure on it.”

‘Lip Sync Battle’ host Chrissy Teigen, 37, has been married to singer John Legend, 44, since 2013. The couple are now proud parents to three children, Luna, six, Miles, four, and baby Esti, who was born in January 2023. But their path to parenthood was not straight forward. In an interview with Bustle in 2021, the Sports Illustrated model revealed she faced fertility issues in her late 20s, so she decided to freeze her eggs. Chrissy shared: “I would have preferred to have had 21-year-old eggs over 28-year-old eggs, but that’s the way it worked out for us. But of course, it feels weird to tell a 20-year-old, ‘You have to freeze your eggs,’ when [getting pregnant] can happen for so many people.”

In 2020, pop star Rita Ora revealed she made the decision to freeze her eggs when she was 24 and again at 27 because she knew her music career would delay the start of her family. Rita, now 34, told The Sunday Times newspaper: "I don’t want to feel the pressure of, ‘Oh, gosh, we’re running out of time.’ It’s not fair that we have to feel that, you know? And men sort of go around town, like, not thinking about it.” Rita is now married to 'Jojo Rabbit' director Taika Waititi, 47.

In a 2021 appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, Khloé Kardashian, 38, revealed she used her now ex-partner Tristan Thompson’s sperm to create embryos and freeze them, so their daughter True, four, could have a sibling. Khloé’s decision came after she was informed that more than 10 eggs she had previously frozen, did not survive the defrosting process. She said: "We realized that my eggs aren't strong enough to be frozen. They should be mixed immediately with sperm to make embryos." In 2022, Khloé and Tristan welcomed their second child together via surrogacy.

‘American Horror Story’ actress Emma Roberts froze her eggs on medical advice, following an endometriosis diagnosis. The 32-year-old star admitted to feeling “terrified” that she wouldn't ever become a mother in a 2020 interview with Cosmopolitan. She said: "Just the thought of going through with it and finding out, perhaps, that I wouldn’t be able to have kids… It was a difficult process.” That same year Emma welcomed her son Rhodes into the world!

In 2020, Rebel Wilson, 43, decided to overhaul her life and that meant losing weight and getting fit. That same year, the ‘Senior Year’ star revealed she had been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, which can affect fertility, so she decided to freeze her eggs. In an Instagram Live session, she said: "I was thinking about fertility and having good quality eggs in the bank, so I was like, 'OK, I'm going to do this. I'm going to get healthy.'" In 2022, she and her partner, Ramona Agruma, welcomed their baby daughter Royce, via surrogacy.

Olivia Munn froze her eggs at the age of 35, aware that her biological clock was ticking. Speaking to Anna Faris on the latter’s podcast in 2016, Olivia, now 42, said: "I think that every girl should do it. For one, you don't have to race the clock anymore. You don't have to worry about it, worry about your job or anything. It's there." In 2021, the actress and her partner, John Mulaney, welcomed baby bou Malcolm.

The eldest Kardashian sibling, Kourtney, 43, shares three children with ex partner Scott Disick - Mason, 13, Penelope, 10, and eight-year-old Reign. Kourtney would like to have a new baby with her husband Travis Barker, 47. In a 2021 episode of ‘The Kardashians’, Kourtney revealed she had decided to freeze her eggs. She said: "Travis and I want to have a baby, and so my doctor took us down this road of doing IVF.”

In 2017, singer Halsey revealed in an episode of ‘The Doctors’ that she was going to freeze her eggs, following an endometriosis diagnosis which could affect her fertility. Halsey, now 28, said: “I’m 23 years old, and I’m going to freeze my eggs. And when I tell people that, they’re like, ‘You’re 23, why do you need to do that? Why do you need to freeze your eggs?’ "Doing an ovarian reserve is important to me because I’m fortunate enough to have that as an option, but I need to be aggressive about protecting my fertility, about protecting myself.” In 2020, the pop star announced her pregnancy! In July 2021, she and boyfriend Alev Aydin welcomed baby Ender Ridley.

Paris Hilton, 42, and husband Carter Reum welcomed baby Phoenix in January 2023. However, in 2020 she revealed to The Sunday Times newspaper that she had frozen her eggs, upon advice from her celebrity friend Kim Kardashian. Paris said: "She introduced me to her doctor, and I was so inspired by her to actually do it. I think every woman should do it because you can really control it and not have that, ‘Oh my God, I need to get married.’"
