The Princess of Wales' fashion has become world-renowned – Kate very rarely (if ever) misses in the style stakes, nailing the sophisticated yet approachable royal look whenever she steps out.

Ever since her engagement to Prince William, the royal has been a huge champion of British brands and designers. And she's not afraid to mix and match between pricier labels and high-street pieces; in fact, she's just as likely to wear styles from the likes of & Other Stories and Boden as she is Alexander McQueen, Erdem and Needle & Thread.

Whether she is dressed down for a more casual royal event (or even in activewear at a sporting event), or elevating the glamour all the way to high gear for an important diplomatic event, you can guarantee that the Princess of Wales will look chic, with plenty of stylish outfit additions to tie everything together; from her shoes to the all-important accessories and jewellery.

So if you're one of the many who adores Kate's style, we've rounded up all of the places she loves to shop, as well as the exact pieces she has worn from each brand – or a brilliant lookalike if the original isn't available.

Kate Middleton's fashion: where does the Princess shop?

Boden

She's just like us! The former Duchess of Cambridge has been a huge fan of high-street staple Boden ever since she became a royal, and has worn their pieces time and time again for her engagements.

Most often, she opts for their knitwear during cold autumn and winter outings; for example, she wore their pale blue Abercorn Scallop Cardigan during a Zoom (remember those?) back in 2020 for a preppy yet comfy and casual look. She also appears to love their dresses, and has worn several of their colourful styles over the years, as well as their "Lena" coat, which is sadly no longer available to buy.

Though many of her Boden originals are sold out, which is no doubt down to Kate wearing them, there are lots of pieces that look very similar to Kate's favourites are still on sale.

& Other Stories

The uber-stylish & Other Stories is a brand that Kate has only recently started wearing, but fashion fans have gone crazy for her affordable picks from the brand every time.

The Princess of Wales has largely turned to & Other Stories for more relaxed occasions – the first of which was when she wore their popular £65 Favourite Cut jeans whilst getting her Covid-19 vaccination in 2021.

And it appears the jeans have a regular rotation in her wardrobe, as she has been seen wearing them publicly twice again since then – firstly, on a visit to the Natural History Museum in 2021, and again to read the Cbeebies bedtime story in February 2022.

She's also – like many of us – taken a liking to their midi dresses in the past too, wearing one of their long sleeve, button up floral numbers on a visit to the garden she designed for the Chelsea Flower Show.

Mango

Mango isn't a brand Kate wears often, but as everyone knows, she is the Queen of re-wearing her favourite items; and her much-loved knitted Mango dress has been hauled out of her wardrobe many times for various different events.

She first wore the sleek dark-green dress on a visit to the Colham Manor Children’s Centre in Middlesex in November 2022, before re-wearing it for the family walk to the Sandringham Christmas service that December. It's now sold out, but we'll certainly be keeping an eye out for any Kate/Mango outfits in future as this is one of her best looks yet. Plus, there are similar styles you can shop on Mango's website.

Rixo

This is another fairly new brand in Kate's wardrobe, but we can forsee Rixo becoming a staple for the Princess of Wales in future. As fans of the royal will know, she loves nothing more than a shirt dress, and has turned to Rixo to scratch that fashion itch over the past year on a somewhat regular basis.

We adore the Izzy Shirt dress in pink marble zebra that she wore during the final day of her royal visit to The Bahamas with Prince William. It's a fabulous pick for the summer, and amazingly, is still in stock in selected sizes, after having many restocks.

She's also worn the Izzy Brown polka dot midi dress on a trip to her children's new school in Windsor – which is only available in one size at the time of writing.

Never fear though – there are plenty of dresses at Rixo that we could absolutely see Kate wearing; from polka-dot blue midis to more colourful, floral options. So if you want to replicate her style the Rixo way, you've got a wealth of options to choose from!

Anoushka & Monica Vinader

Prince William gave Kate an Annoushka eternity ring as a "push present" after the youngest of their three children, Lois, was born in 2018.

Although considering the usual priceless royal jewel collection the royals wear, this is actually surprisingly affordable.

The Eclipse 18ct White Gold Diamond Eternity Ring is £1,800, which is no small amount, it's just a snip compared to the estimated value of Kate's famous sapphire engagement ring, which is thought to be around £400,000.

She's also been seen wearing these pretty and dainty pearl drop earrings too. The 18ct Gold Brown Diamond Baroque Pearl earrings are £1,320, and are in line with Kate's timeless classic style.

It's not the only high-street jewellery brand Kate's clearly a fan of though, as she's often been seen in a dangly pair of Monica Vinader earrings in green onxy. The siren wire earrings are 18ct gold vermeil and are a deep dark green shade, and cost £125.

When Kate's seen wearing casualwear, one of the most frequent items she's snapped wearing is these classic white tennis shoes. She specifically loves the 2750 Cotu Classic style, which are instantly recognisable for their white canvas uppers, white laces and contrasting light brown rubber sole.

She's been seen wearing them as long ago as 2016, and they're still a mainstay in her wardrobe today too, and often feature in their official family photographs.

They're her go-to look for sporty events too, such as the 2022 Barbados regatta she attended with William, where she was raced her husband in Bahamian sloop boats. She also wore them to the 2017 London Marathon with her husband Harry, where they gave out bottles of water and medals as part of their roles with the charity Heads Together.

While she's also been photographed wearing them in a 2017 GQ magazine photo shoot about mental health, with William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and their dog, Lupo, which was also part of the Heads Together campaign.

Aspinal of London

When it comes to accessories, one of Kate's favourite handbags is from the royal-approved brand, Aspinal of London. Her go-to, which she has been seen using on a handful of royal engagements over the past few years, is the Mayfair bag. It's so chic and versatile that she has it in two colours, the classic black and soft taupe.

The cute bag has all the hallmarks of a classic shape that will stand the test of time. Featuring the brand's signature shield lock and flap fastening, it also has a long chain, so it can be worn across the body or over the shoulder. Or after detaching the chain it can be used like a clutch, thanks to the top handle.

Inside, there's a central zipped compartment as well as open pockets on either side so there's plenty of room for your phone and other essentials.

It comes in four sizes; the original is the largest, then midi, mini and nano, but Kate favours the largest, as well as a a whole host of colours, and even some that are embroidered.

Not everything Kate wears is formal or all about high-end fashion though, as she's also, likely inadvertently, become a bit of an outwear icon.

Swapping her usual court heels, or even her more caualwear Superga trainers, Kate's also been spotted wearing a pair of brown leather Berghaus boots. She wore them in December 2019 when she helped families whoare supported by the Family Action charity pick out their Christmas trees, as well as when she co-designed a garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2019 and more recenetly, during the Armed Forces Day in June 2022.

Kate often pairs the Supalite II GTX walking boots with chunky knitted socks rolled down, for a real country casual look.

Needle & Thread

Needle & Thread specialise in what it describes as 'ultra feminine' contemporary womensear, which lends itself well to Kate's style.

She first wore this cherry-red striking maxi in January 2020 to co-host a reception at the Palace with Prince William, marking the UK-Africa Investment Summit. Living up to her re-wear name, she also donned the dress again in December 2022, posting on her official Instagram page to promote the upcoming ITV show, the Together at Christmas Carol Concert, which Kate hosted.

It's beautifully made, with embellished shimmering sequins and features elegant long, sheer sleeves, while its flared midi skirt gives its a really flattering silhouette.

The Aurora ballerina dress is still available to buy, and at £460 is certainly more of an investment piece than Kate's other high street favourites. But, its classic style and design means its a piece with longevity and will no doubt make a festive appearance year after year.
