Cooking for the family can be a time-consuming and expensive task. That's where @mealsbymitch steps in, aiming to create flavourful meals that won't break the bank.
He revealed that he's been inundated with requests for a "fiver traybake series". As part of this, he whipped up a £4.87 chicken and chorizo traybake using just six ingredients.
The process involved chopping potatoes and placing them on a tray, topping them with chicken thighs and a generous drizzle of olive oil. Seasoned with salt and pepper, Mitch quipped: "Who can be a***d to throw a banquet together after work?" which is something many will be able to relate to.

He described the traybake as an affordable way to feed everyone by simply tossing ingredients onto a tray, before adding a sprinkle of paprika seasoning. The dish was then baked at 180 degrees for 45 minutes. Onions, peppers and sliced chorizo were added before returning it to the oven for a further 15 minutes.
To finish, Mitch added some optional greens for presentation and spooned over the tray juices. He proudly presented the final result, a tasty-looking dish that could serve four if each person had a whole chicken leg.
In the comments section, one user praised the value of chicken legs, writing: "Can't beat chicken legs for value. Got some in the slow cooker right now. Thighs are fab, too. I buy the ones with bones and skin still on, and prep them myself. much cheaper than pre-prepped ones."
Another asked about the preparation of potatoes, to which Mitch replied: "Didn’t boil them no, just straight onto the tray. They’re in the oven an hour so cooked completely through". A father shared his experience, saying: "Made this tonight for my lot with spicy rice and corn on the cob, went down a treat, cheers pal".
Another dad commented: "This is proper nice make some variation of it every week. Kids love it."
