By now we've all seen that Little Mix's Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock are both expecting adorable bundles of joy at some point this year – but the bandmates have revealed the timing was purely coincidental. Oh, and the way that Perrie found out that Leigh-Anne is also pregnant is honestly the most wholesome and heartwarming story we've heard in weeks.
Chatting away during a recent TikTok interview, Perrie shared that the group were on a Zoom call with their manager, Samantha Cox, who is also pregnant (honestly, there must be something in the water at Little Mix rehearsals!) when it all came out. "We were on a work Zoom and we were chatting about things that were coming up in our schedule because in Little Mix we are blocked out two years in advance," said Perrie.
She then added, "I was thinking, 'I probably won’t be able to do that, oh no I'm ruining everything!' and panicking... [so] I messaged my manager, Sam, like 'Sam I need to talk to you ASAP' and she just called me and said, 'You’re pregnant'."
It was at this point that Perrie says Samantha revealed her own pregnancy, as well as Leigh-Anne's, in the best way: "I was like, 'How do you know that?' And she said, 'Because I am too!'... Then she said, 'Please can I add someone to the call?'"
Perrie continued, "[At first] I was like 'No, I'm really nervous, it's very early, I don't want to tell anyone' and then she said 'Do you trust me?'... I was like 'Of course, with my life - go on then, add someone' So she added someone to the call and then I just hear this voice come out and she goes, 'Perrie! You too!' And then we just cried our eyes out. We couldn’t believe it!"
Excuse us for a moment whilst we get emotional too!
In the true spirit of Little Mix, fellow band member Jade Thirlwall also helped out with keeping the double pregnancy news quiet on the set of their latest music video for Confetti - by faking a back injury.
"We were in rehearsals at the time," Perrie commented. "Me and Leigh-Anne were pregnant and so out of breath, but we didn't want anybody to know, like choreographers and things. We didn't want anyone in the room to know so Jade was going 'Oh, my back' and she was joining in! Leigh-Anne was going 'My back hurts' and Jade would go, 'Oh, my back, I know, my back is gone!'"
Jade then joked: "Any excuse for me to sit out for five minutes! I was just like, 'Yeah, me too!'" Perrie added, "We were all in it together!"
Congratulations again, Perrie and Leigh-Anne!
