Adele Helped A Fan Propose In The Middle Of A Concert

Don’t let the divorce album fool you—Adele is still a romantic at heart.

The 'Easy on Me' singer helped a lucky couple reach a life-changing milestone during her televised special, Adele: One Night Only. Halfway through the secret live concert at Los Angeles’s Griffith Observatory, local fan Quentin appeared onstage with his soon-to-be fiancée, Ashley, who was blindfolded and wearing noise-canceling headphones. Once the two were standing centre stage, Quentin got down on one knee before a surprised Ashley, who removed her blindfold and headphones.

'Who are these people?' Ashley asked as the crowd laughed.

After Quentin officially asked, 'Will you marry me?' Adele reappeared on the stage to sing 'Make You Feel My Love,' her popular cover of Bob Dylan’s 1997 song. Quentin and Ashley later enjoyed the intimate performance while sitting front row, joining guests like Lizzo, Selena Gomez, Gabrielle Union, and more.

In addition to the surprise concert, One Night Only featured Adele sitting for a candid interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which she talked about everything from the media frenzy surrounding her weight loss to the moment she realised she wanted a divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki.

Of the latter incident, the singer told Winfrey that a conversation with a group of her friends provided a breakthrough for her.

'We were all answering these questions in this very bougie magazine, and it was something like, "What’s something that no one would ever know about you?"And I just said it in front of three of my friends. I was like, "I’m really not happy. I’m not living, I’m just plodding along,"' she said. 'And I remember a lyric that I wrote that I put on a song on 25, which is, "I want to live and not just survive." I definitely felt like that. And it was when I admitted to my own friends who thought I was really happy that actually I’m really unhappy, and they were all aghast. I felt like it was sort of from there that I was like, "What am I doing it for?"'
