TikTok star and bestie of Kourtney Kardashian Barker, Addison Rae, divided fans after sharing a photo of herself wearing a 'disrespectful' bikini online – leaving many commenting about the garment's religious 'theme'. The post has since been deleted.

The bikini in question is from a brand called Praying by Adidas and features the word 'father' on one cup 'son' on the other and the words 'holy spirit' emblazoned across the bottoms. In Addison's post however, just the bikini top could be seen. The bikini's product description on the Praying website says: "Incredible faith powerful healing. Triangle Tie Side. Peace be on you and with your spirit."

Underneath the now-removed Instagram post, one user commented, "Nah this disrespectful to Jesus. Sad what y'all do for money" while over on Twitter another wrote, "You aren't really going sell a Father, Son, Holy Spirit bikini are you? Super disrespectful! Hopefully the @whoisaddison bikini was a joke... not a product line. If it's real, you lost a consumer."

A further Twitter user added, "if addison rae was mocking any other religion she’d be trending and getting cancelled rn. but since it’s Christianity…" whilst a fourth remarked, "Not @adidas and Addison Rae blatantly making a mockery of Christianity".

At the time of writing, Addison had not made any comment about the garment or issued an apology after removing the post. Adidas also do not appear to have publicly commented on the upset the range has caused.

Others also took to social media to comment that they had no problem with the garment in question, with one saying, "I'm literally christian and I think this is so cute".

Another simply shared the photo and added a series of heart-eye emojis, "OH MY GOD #addisonrae 😍 😍 😍 ".

After removing the bikini image, Addison resumed posting about her new line of dolls launching in Walmart.

Cosmopolitan UK has reached out to both Adidas and Addison Rae for comment and will update this piece if there's a response.
