One of our favourite nostalgic TV couples, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, have always been pretty private when it comes to life behind closed doors, but this week the former O.C. actor gave a rare interview about their relationship and how they first met 15 years ago.

Speaking to Anna Faris on her Unqualified podcast, the actor said they first bumped into each other at Canter's Deli in West Hollywood, which was around the time The O.C. was wrapping up and Gossip Girl had just started airing.

"Josh Schwartz produced both shows and literally the first time we met, that whole cast was eating at Canter's and I lived at Canter's for like my entire 20s," Adam shared. "And I was leaving, and he introduced all of us."

However, a couple more years would pass before they officially started dating. After unexpectedly bumping into each other in LA a few times, in 2011 they were both cast in romantic comedy The Oranges.

"We did this movie together," he went on. "I was seeing someone at the time... So we met kind of through mutual work friends off and on. And then we didn't get together about a year after that movie, when I was single."

Adam revealed he was always very attracted to Leighton, but admitted he questioned her character. "I was very attracted to her from jump. She's a heavenly creature. I thought she was gorgeous. And even when we did the movie, there was chemistry there, but I was seeing someone."

He continued, "But I had no idea whether she was a good person or not. And, in fact, kind of assumed she probably wasn't for like the first handful of years that I didn't know her, just because, I don't know, Gossip Girl."

But after they started dating, he said he came "to find out she's literally like Joan of Arc". Adam said Leighton "is the strongest, best person I know. She is my moral compass and North Star, and I just can't say enough good things about her character. It's crazy."

The couple, who tied the knot in a secret wedding in 2014, are now parents to two children. So sweet, guys!
